2019 ‘Farewell’ Shiraz
Awards & Reviews: Bronze Medal - 2020 Yarra Valley Wine Show
Winemakers Note: The ‘Farewell’ Shiraz is the first and last, Single Block release produced from our Shiraz vines in Block 3. The 15-year old vines have now made way for our Centare Project vines, bidding adieu to our Shiraz production.
The fruit for our Farewell Shiraz was hand-picked, then meticulously sorted to select only the best berries for fermentation. The wine was fermented in a single, small open-vessel and matured in old French oak barriques for almost 12 months before bottling in May 2020.
Tasting Notes: This is a ripe, fruit-driven Shiraz, made to be enjoyed while young and fresh. The wine shows lifted, red berry and spicy aromas, lingering sweet, redcurrant flavours and soft tannins.
